Barbory Ellen Dull

  General Notes:

I have made a little stronger connection from Albert Ream to Fredrick Ream. I had in my records Barbory Dull as Albert Ream's wife and Fredrick Ream's mother. In the 1880 census Fredrick shows up in the Samuel Brougher household listed as SSon. My father says that that information is correct and he remembers his father or grandfather telling him that Fredrick Ream's mother remarried to a Brougher. The only problem I have is that the name in the Samuel Brougher household in the 1880 census says Ellen, not Barbory. My parents have some historical books at home which have information about the area and there is a reference to a Barbory Ellen Brougher. This makes my connecton stronger. Finally I have found in the (Old) Jersey Baptist Church Cemetery transcription a Barbory Ellen Ream buried by Andrew Ream. I am a little puzzled why she was buried with her first husband's last name rather than her remarried name of Brougher. Barbory and Andrew could not have been married more than 5-7 years before Andrew's early death.

Barbory Ellen Dull would make sense as Albert's wife. She then married Sam Brougher and had John Brougher and Mary Lephart Brougher. Husband #2 dies. Ellen marries a Crossen (Aunt Faye couldn't remember his first name.). Husband #3 dies and then she marries a traveling salesman but she never used his name or lived with him. It is interesting to find out that she went only by Ream on her tombstone. (from Donna)

Barbory married Albert Ream, son of Thomas Ream and Hester Struhl. (Albert Ream was born on 28 Dec 1847 ⁴ and died on 3 Jun 1877 ⁴.)
